The vast majority of the NFT market today is powered by Ethereum and its sidechains and scaling solutions, as well as Solana – as are NFT-based crypto games. But in recent months we’ve seen more and more developers start making Avalanche games.

In the past 30 days, the winning game Avalanche Crabada has surpassed the struggling NFT trading volume of Ethereum Axie Infinity, raising more than $225 million to date – making it Avalanche’s most profitable NFT project overall, according to CryptoSlam. First-person shooter Shrapnel – dubbed the “AAA game” by its developers – will also be based on the platform, while online social game Highrise will launch the Web3 meta-universe on Avalanche. Other notable projects include the mobile game Castle Crush and the online role-playing game Ragnarok.

Why Upgrade Avalanche, One Of The Leading So-Called “Ethereum Killers”? The Avalanche subnet acts as a separate instance of a platform built for specific decentralized applications or games (dapps) or games – almost like a white-label custom blockchain solution, but still part of Avalanche. It inherits the security of Avalanche, but acts as a dedicated area unaffected (and unaffected) by the larger network. For example, if another Avalanche application or game attacks the core network, your game performance will not be affected if you run it on a subnet. Likewise, popular subnet games should not take resources from other Avalanche services. “Game projects on the subnet are about to explode,” Wu told co-hosts Dan Roberts and Jeff Roberts, noting that there are already nearly 10 games on the Avalanche subnet. “Games in general, GameFi games in particular – there are a million deals. So, this transaction is like consuming the capacity of the chain,” he added. “If someone else does something it won’t affect the speed or time on your subnet.” The subnets are designed to take advantage of Avalanche’s security mechanisms and consensus while isolating developers from potential network tensions. Blockchain platforms can sink and sometimes even collapse, as Solana recently witnessed. Ava Labs, which represents the founder and key contributor behind Avalanche, sees subnets as the perfect solution.

“It’s almost like your own chain – basically your own chain,” said Wu. “And that’s great for developers, not just for transaction speed…but basically they can focus on what they want to do, which is making great gameplay, rather than worrying about the main infrastructure substrate you’re worried about.” should be done. NFT and games

Wu also discussed some of the ugliness and criticism of NFT. Many critics point to the environmental impact of some blockchain platforms using a consensus model to prove work (as is now Ethereum) as well as the proliferation of fraud in the NFT and crypto space. NFTs act as blockchain-backed digital ownership documents that represent items such as artwork, collectibles, and even video game elements.

He points out that many people still don’t consider the potential “business model exit” through NFT assets, whether they’re artists cutting out the middleman from aftermarket sales or having a more direct relationship with fans. He also cites “foam reviews” for some of the expensive collections that can mislead skeptics. “I just feel like people don’t really think of digital collections as anything,” Wu said. “They just thought, ‘Well, I can copy it to a GIF and show it, so any digital collection is just bullshit.’ And I think that’s probably why they hate it.”

However, he said GameFi apps — also known as win-win or play-and-win games — are “currently exploding” and function as “a hybrid of decentralized finance and NFT combined into one.” Such games typically award token rewards to incentivize players, and having in-game items in the form of NFT Assets means players can potentially benefit from them even when not playing. Wu points to the potential of service credits, which allow holders to offer items for other players to use – and reap the benefits as they catch up with their game. You can also make money. However, there are still early days for NFT-based gaming – and some might argue that today’s examples are more DeFi apps than sane and entertaining video games. Shrapnel is one of the upcoming games that will be raised from the current price of crypto games, and others build in the outer space believing that future titles will indeed be as polished as mainstream traditional games.

“It’s still not the same level of play as publisher AAA games,” Wu said of current crypto games. “What attracts people are mechanisms to stimulate and develop your character or increase gifts and things like that. So, it’s like a nice little new creation, but it’s definitely not the gameplay.”
